Promoting Positive Youth Development
Through Quality

The Minnesota School-Age Care Alliance (MnSACA) is a proud state affiliate of the National Afterschool Association (NAA). Our mission is to promote quality afterschool programs and support the leadership and development of school-age care professionals.

The Minnesota Afterschool Accreditation Program (MAAP) is a state-approved accreditation, developed by MnSACA to promote the highest level of quality programming for school-age and afterschool care.

MAAP is the ultimate indicator of quality in out-of-school time programs. It provides out-of-school time professionals with performance indicators to guide in program planning, implementation, and evaluation. More than 40 programs are already MAAP accredited and many more are in process.

Join school-age care programs demonstrating quality through accreditation!

The Minnesota Afterschool Accreditation Program (MAAP) process will guide you in your quest for quality programming for Minnesota’s youth.

MAAP Informational Guide

The MAAP Informational Guide is the best place to go to get an overview of MAAP Accreditation. It offers an introduction to the research and goals behind the creation of MAAP, walks through the steps in the process, provides an overview of fees for going through the process, and lays out the criteria that must be met in order to become accredited.

Overview of MAAP Accreditation PowerPoint

This PowerPoint provides much of the same information as the MAAP Informational Guide, but is a wonderful tool to share with staff, families, school boards, and other stakeholders. It will help them understand the important impact of accreditation on the program and within the community.
